Our specialized approach harnesses advanced techniques to alleviate discomfort and enhance your quality of life. Discover a tailored solution designed to address a range of issues for a more fulfilling everyday experience.
The InterStim neuromodulation (Sacral nerve stimulation) device is a unique innovation in treating bladder dysfunction. By providing electronic impulses to regulate the irregular firing of nerves to the bladder, it can improve incontinence and restore normal emptying in a non-emptying bladder.
InterStim device consists of three components:
Lead: This is a fine wire containing four separate electrodes, each of which can be stimulated individually or in various combinations to tailor the neuromodulation to your individual needs.
Pulse Generator: This small battery drives the system and generally needs replacement every 6-7 years.
Programmer: This small remote control, similar to a TV remote, allows you to adjust the InterStim device yourself.
All operations have the potential for side effects. Most people do not experience them (less than 10% of patients actually do), but it is good to be aware of what they might be:
Occasional (less than 10%):
Uncommon (less than 5%):
Rare (less than 1%):
We continuously incorporate cutting-edge technologies from around the world into our offerings, such as a surgical system that allows for precise and confident complex procedures. We use magnetic stimulation to treat certain neurological conditions and create personalised brain maps for tailored treatment plans. Nerve monitoring during surgeries ensures the nervous system is not compromised, and a robotic exoskeleton aids in mobility issues. Our goal at IBS Hospital is to provide the best care possible, utilising the latest and most innovative technologies available.
